Open since 1919, three generations of Waxbergs have been serving the Chicagoland area for 88 years with over 120 years of combined fitting experience. With over 15,000 pairs of shoes, boots and sandals in stock, we are sure to have your size! We carry women's sizes 5-12 in widths from AA to 4E, men's sizes 7-16 in widths from AA to 6E. We also have an in-house lab which fabricates many types of foot orthotics as well as most shoe repair and pedorthic shoe modifications.
Our History
Ron Waxberg has been in the shoe business his whole life. He learned the business from his father, who in turn learned from his father Isaac Waxberg, a European trained orthopedic shoe maker and technician.
Technicians like him were the first form of Foot Doctors back in the 1920s. He opened his first shoe repair business in downtown Chicago in 1919. In 2001, we expanded and relocated into our big and beautiful new store in Niles, IL. In 2006 we outgrew our new store and expanded again!
